Katie is a multi disciplinary textile designer and maker.

She lives and works in the creative city of Bristol.

Her patterns are both digitally designed and printed and she makes all of her own products in small batches.

Her distinctive colour pallet and playful use of scale and shape has been described as “metamorphic modernism”.

Motifs are currently inspired by animals which she reveres, specifically bees and peacocks and more recently, one she initially found repellant, another pollenator-the bat. Patterns often reference symmetry, geometry and relevant colour, covering subjects  like the colour of pollens, the bee dance and echolocation.

Katie originally trained as an illustrator, and also worked as a specialist decorator and muralist for ten years in London, creating murals in places as far away as Kenya and Moscow. These experiences have undoubtedly contributed to her love and understanding of colour.

She completed an M.A. in Multidisciplinary Printmaking at the University of the West of England in 2012 and in 2015 she was chosen to take part in the Crafts Council Hothouse scheme.

She is part of a group of multidisciplinary printmakers called INSIGHT  based in the South West of England, who exhibit together regularly.

In March 2016 she joined Fig a gallery/ shop situated on the busy Gloucester road with four other makers. You can find the full range of her products here alongside the products of the other four artists.

In addition to creating her own products she also works to commission. She can offer a versatile, informed and imaginative service for many interior surface specifications.
